The Vault can be used as an end-of-arm end-effector, or as a part holder in a robotic cell. As an end-effector the Vault can automatically adapt to any part that is presented, and grip the part for movement elsewhere. As a gripper it can replace custom or fixed tooling, and eliminate downtime due to changeover. The Vault can also be used as a part holder, where a robot can place a part on a stationary Vault. The Vault will then activate to conform to the part, and hold it during a secondary process. Activation is achieved by a signal from the robot or robot cell.
